Real Speed parameter (speedometer)
Real Speed parameter will show you the real speed of your vehicle.
PolarFIS reads directly the speed from the CANBUS and not from the cluster (where is modified).
All this information will be shown in absolutely real time in your display.
Actually most of the speedmeters are showing wrong information about your real speed.
This information is shown with tolerances of ±10% (included variations due the tire diameter).
Some countries have legislated this “variations” by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Regulation 39.
For example, in the European Union, all the member states use speedometers similar to the UNECE regulation with this rules.
- Cluster speed never must be less than the real speed.
- Cluster speed must not be more than 110% of the real speed plus 4 km/h at specified test speeds.
(Example, at 80km/h, cluster speed must be less or equal at 92km/h)
In the United States, is allowed 5mph as maximum on the speedometer readings for the vehicles.
In other countries, you will find different regulations and rules about speedometer.
