AUTOPOLAR COOKIES POLICY
Definition of cookie
A cookie is a small data file that is placed on your device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used to make websites work or to do so more efficiently, and also to provide information for the preparation of reports. A cookie can have unique identifiers and reside, among other places, on your device, in the emails we send you and on the platform.
The cookies placed by AutoPolar are called “origin cookies”, and those established by third parties that are not AutoPolar, “third party cookies”. Third-party cookies allow features or functionality provided by third parties in relation to the Platform, for example, advertising, interactive content and analysis. The parties that place these third-party cookies can recognize your device both when you visit the website in question and when you visit other websites.
We can use other technologies similar to cookies, such as web beacons, which are sometimes called “tracking pixels” or “transparent gifs”. These are small graphic files that contain a unique identifier that allows us to recognize when someone has visited our Platform or has opened an email that we have sent. In many cases, these technologies depend on cookies to work properly, so rejecting them will harm your operation.
Our Platform may also use “Flash Cookies” (also known as Local Shared Objects or “LSO”), which are different from browser cookies because of the amount and type of data stored.
We use origin and third-party cookies for several reasons: some are necessary for technical reasons to make our platform work; others provide a better experience on our platform by remembering some of its activities in it (including through our plug-ins, widgets and embedded content); and other cookies allow more relevant advertising and better analysis.
Some cookies are necessary for the platform to work, for example, in the following ways:
To identify who has registered on the platform.
To make sure that you connect to the correct service on our platform when we make changes in its operation.
Cookies for features and services.
Some cookies provide a better experience on our platform. For example, if there are no cookies to remember some of your settings and activities on our platform, the following features may not be available:
Add purchases to your cart and remember the products you have added;
Cookies for analysis and customization. Some cookies collect information about how you use the platform to help us improve the use made of it and understand what may interest you and customize your experience. These cookies, for example:
They generate statistics on the use of the platform, including measuring the errors that occur or obtaining data on the number of users of the platform who have seen a product;
They help us track response rates to emails, identify when they have been seen and track if they are forwarded;
They collect or transmit information about you, such as your browser type, search preferences and your use of the platform or third-party sites that incorporate part of the platform.
By actively managing the configuration of your browser or mobile device you can modify or “refuse” the collection of any information through cookies or other tracking technologies. Keep in mind that disabling or deleting cookies will not prevent the device from being identified and the related data collected. If you decide to reject cookies, your access to some functions and areas of our website may be restricted. The means by which you can reject cookies through the controls of your web browser vary from one browser to another, so you should consult the technical information of your browser or mobile device for instructions on how to delete and disable cookies and other tracking / registration tools.
In addition, you can “refuse” to collect any information through cookies or other tracking technologies of companies that participate through the European Interactive Digital Advertising, the Network Advertising Initiative of USA. or the Digital Advertising Alliance of the USA. Visit the opt-out pages of these organizations for information on how you can opt-out of receiving personalized web-based ads from participating companies. You can access any configuration offered by your mobile operating system to limit ad tracking or install the AppChoices app for more information on how not to receive personalized ads in mobile apps.
If you do not want the Flash Cookies stored on your device, you can adjust the settings of your Flash player to block the storage of these cookies using the tools found in the Storage Settings Panel of the Website. You can also control Flash Cookies by accessing the Global Storage Configuration Panel and following the instructions (which may include instructions explaining, for example, how to delete existing Flash Cookies (in reference to the “information” on the Macromedia site), how to prevent Flash LSOs from being placed on your device without being prompted and (for Flash Player 8 and later versions) how to block Flash Cookies that are not being sent by the operator of the page on which you are at moment). Please note that the configuration of Flash Player to restrict or limit the acceptance of Flash Cookies may reduce or impede the functionality of some Flash applications, including, potentially, those used in connection with our services or online content.
